Easy Pasta and Shrimp Recipe Now Posted

This is a great simple and fast recipe to make that comes out so impressive you won’t want to admit how easy it is to prepare.   I got this recipe  from my mother in law as she was chatting with me over the phone about what she made for dinner.  Unknown to her was that I was on the the other line quickly jotting down everything she was saying.   If I tell her to slow down because I’m writing it, she may forget to tell me something important.  She doesn’t use recipes per se, it’s more of the, “Add a little bit of this and a little of that and it will come out just fine.”   So hopefully you will like the measurements I use, but feel free to alter them according to your taste.

Pasta and Shrimp Recipe

Alright here you go: All you need are those small frozen shrimp you get at the store, pasta, garlic, breadcrumbs, lemon juice, white wine, olive oil and some parsley and basil if you have it. Sometimes I don’t like to list all the ingredients because it is easy to think that in order for a dish, in my case an Italian dish to turn out right, you have to follow the recipe to the “t”.  But this I am learning is not the case at all.   So use my recipes as a guideline.  If you don’t like using wine or don’t have the lemon juice don’t worry about it, just don’t use it.    But if you remove one ingredient try to beef up another so there is full flavor.

This recipe is pretty much done by the time you have boiled the pasta.   If you are finished cooking the pasta before everything else is done, just drain it and set it aside, and just toss it with some olive oil to keep it from sticking. Serve it up nice in a real Italian pasta bowl with a healthy side salad.  You can also use my easy recipe for baked garlic bread to really round out the meal.

Another tip I need to mention is to keep some of the pasta water on hand because you can add this to the shrimp mixture if it is too dry.  The water has the pasta flavor so it will blend better than using plain cold water.   Enjoy and let me know how it turns out for you.
