Easy Frittata Recipes

Even though I grew up in an Italian home, I don’t remember frittatas being a part of our breakfast menu. It actually wasn’t until later in life when I started experimenting with them and discovered how much I love them.

The basis of an Italian frittata is to combine eggs mixed with Italian cheeses and other ingredients such as herbs, vegetables, or meats. They can be as simple or as complex as you’d like. I’ll be adding to this collection as time goes on, but I wanted to at least start putting a list together for you.

Omelets vs Frittata

My father always used to make egg omelets, but frittatas are slightly different. Omelets are folded over, and are very thin. A frittata however uses many more eggs, at least six, and are not folded over. Instead they are cooked either in a skillet or baked depending on the recipe.

They are thicker than an omelet but thinner than a quiche. The good news is that egg frittatas are incredibly flexible to make and you can adjust quantities based on taste, or by what you happen to have on hand. And the good news… there is no wrong or right recipe!

I hope you enjoy these easy frittata recipes!
