CIAO, I’M LIZ, THE AUTHOR!

Born and raised in an Italian home you might be thinking I mastered cooking at an early age. Unfortunately, my story couldn’t be further from the truth. Although Italian food was always my favorite cuisine, I had no desire to cook or to learn how to cook! It wasn’t until I married my also-Italian husband that I realized I needed help in the kitchen and fast!
With the help of both sides of the family, I started learning how to cook amazing meals that impressed everyone – including me! I eventually figured if I could make these amazing dishes, so could others.
Many of these recipes are from our family roots and they resonate with other Italians who recognize many of these simple traditional meals. On the other hand, there are plenty of people who love Italian food and culture, but don’t have an Italian heritage. My recipes are for anyone who enjoys Italian food and wants to discover the joy of Italian cooking right in their own homes!
QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE
Are these recipes healthy?
I would like to think so yes, but mainly because they use minimal ingredients and are made at home. I always recommend using the best quality ingredients you can, including organic when possible. There are some fried dishes, but these are pan fried, not deep fried. I did my best to include a mix of recipes so there’s something for everyone.
Yes! Who has time for complicated and difficult recipes these days? I’m a strong believer that the best Italian cooking is simple Italian cooking.
Yes, these recipes can be easily adjusted, except for the desserts. Italian cooking is very flexible and many of these recipes came with instructions handed down to me that simply stated, “use a little of this, and a little of that. You’ll know when it’s ready.” The truth is most Italian cooking is just using what you have and knowing how to make it taste great. Many older generations never wrote down their recipes, so I hope my recipes help you along with getting started.
No, not at all. Just about any decent grocery store will have what you need. The exception would be for some of the desserts, but you could always order some items online – like the lady fingers for the eggless tiramisu.
This collection is comprised of many recipes also available online on my website, although some are not. I’ve tweaked a few of them for the eBook. Now you have in one place at your fingertips some of these recipes without having to go online and deal with ads, scrolling through a page, or searching for the right recipe.
All you have to do is click the Purchase button below.
